Located in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia, Rabigh Teaching Hospital is a modern medical and educational facility designed to support both patient care and academic learning. Developed in collaboration with Abnia Consulting Engineers in 2010, the hospital spans approximately 125,000 m², offering a comprehensive environment for medical treatment and student training. With a capacity of 400 beds, the facility integrates advanced healthcare services with dedicated educational spaces, fostering an immersive learning experience for future medical professionals.

A defining feature of the design is the central spine that seamlessly connects all hospital departments while also linking the facility to Rabigh Colleges Campus. This integration strengthens the relationship between medical education and healthcare, creating a dynamic environment for both students and practitioners.

To counter the traditionally rigid nature of hospital buildings, the design prioritizes openness and well-being. Natural light floods the interiors through strategically placed openings and a skylight, creating a bright and uplifting atmosphere. Interior vegetation is incorporated to enhance the healing environment, while communal spaces—including cafés, shops, and waiting areas—provide areas for relaxation and social interaction.

By merging functionality with human-centered design, Rabigh Teaching Hospital serves as a model for modern healthcare architecture, where healing, learning, and connectivity come together in a thoughtfully designed space.
