Rofayda Hospital Extension - Building 4 (B4)
Location Sheikh Zayed, EgyptFootprint 1000 m2Date Designed in 2024

With a footprint of approximately 1,000 m², the building is composed of two basement levels connected directly to the wider Rofayda Health Park, and rises above ground as a ground floor plus four additional levels. This configuration enables seamless integration with the surrounding complex while providing ample capacity for a variety of medical and patient care functions.

The building program is thoughtfully organized to support advanced medical care while prioritizing patient wellbeing. It accommodates three state-of-the-art operating suites, 40 patient beds, and a variety of specialized outpatient centers on the ground floor.

Architecturally, the building’s curved façade and expansive glazing create a distinctive identity for the extension while maximizing natural daylight and panoramic views of the surrounding cityscape. This design strategy fosters a healing environment, promoting a sense of openness, comfort, and connection to the outdoors, qualities that are integral to patient recovery and wellbeing.

Sustainability is central to the design approach. The integration of directional louvers, shaded inset windows, and carefully selected materials reduces energy demand while enhancing environmental performance. These strategies contribute to a welcoming, human-centered atmosphere that aligns with international standards for sustainable healthcare design.
