Located in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwara, Saudi Arabia, Taiba University Teaching Hospital is a pioneering medical and educational facility designed to seamlessly integrate healthcare and academic learning. Developed in collaboration with Abnia Consulting Engineers in 2013, the hospital spans an impressive 136,925 m², offering a comprehensive environment for both patient care and medical education.

The facility functions as a 400-bed hospital, providing extensive space for specialized medical services. In addition to its healthcare functions, the design incorporates dedicated educational areas within each department, allowing students to engage in hands-on learning alongside medical professionals.

A defining feature of the hospital’s design is its expansive central atrium, which serves as both a functional and architectural focal point. This atrium floods the interior with natural light, fostering a sense of openness while enhancing visual connectivity between departments and across multiple floors. Acting as the heart of the complex, it facilitates interaction between patients, healthcare providers, and students, reinforcing the hospital’s role as a dynamic learning environment.

By prioritizing natural light, spatial efficiency, and the seamless integration of healthcare and education, Taiba University Teaching Hospital stands as a model of modern medical architecture, designed to support both healing and knowledge advancement.
